SoulShine Preschool

At SoulShine, we are committed to raising your child with as much love, attention, patience, and kindness as they receive when they are with you. We are open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7:00am-6:30pm, excluding holidays & scheduled days off. Our Preschool provides care for 6 weeks old to 5 years old.

We value:
- unique permaculture-based curriculum, centered around nature stewardship, community, homesteading & well-being
- low child to teacher ratio
- farm to table, organic vegetarian meals & purees
- all inclusive instruction such as yoga, music, language & nutrition

Permaculture is a toolbox of ecological and resource-wise practices that create a more balanced and fair relationship with the earth and the people who inhabit it. By studying the patterns of nature and working with them, we become more harmonious participants in life and living. Permaculture works toward building a more regenerative landscape, and encompasses using less energy, eating wholesome, local food, involving your family in the life of the community and making wiser choices that will improve the quality of life for your family, your community and the environment around you.

Our curriculum incorporates permaculture values and awareness into the broader early learning standards we maintain

The children will learn to care for their bodies and their spirits and they will appreciate the value of whole foods

They will see the importance of the local and global community and begin to understand our place

Nature Stewardship

They will learn to value nature and explore ways to develop a healthy relationship with the earth and its people

Our curriculum encompasses five key areas of child development, patterned after the Georgia Early Learning Standards:

  • Physical Health, Well Being and Movement Skills
  • Social and Emotional Development
  • Independence, Hygiene and Transitions
  • Thinking Abilities and General Knowledge
  • Communication, Literacy and Language

Every child at SoulShine enjoys additional activities selected to enhance their engagement and enrich learning. These activities are included in your tuition.

  • Music (every classroom)
  • Yoga (every classroom)
  • Athletics (14 months to 5 years)
  • Spanish (14 months to 5 years)

A founding tenet at SoulShine is inclusion.

Enrollment is open to infants and children starting at age 6 weeks through 4 years without discrimination on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, religion, political affiliation or physical disabilities, insofar as we are able to provide quality services for the child and space is available.

We will not structure an environment that could allow some children to feel left out. SoulShine Preschool integrates multicultural awareness into all areas of the curriculum.

Wholesome Food

SoulShine places a high priority on providing high-quality, unprocessed food. Our curriculum includes educational, hands-on experiences for the children through our own organic garden and farmer’s market, food exploration activities and lessons on nutrition.

The food we serve is:

  • Locally grown (whenever possible)
  • Organic
  • Made from whole, fresh ingredients
  • Vegetarian
  • Prepared by our own chef

Every meal/snack contains high quality protein and/healthy fats, which will help balance blood sugar levels; reduce mood swings.

Daily meals are carefully designed to provide growing children with the nutrients they need for optimal health.

SoulShine is a nut-free facility.
