We will…

  • Create a sustainable, eco-friendly, home-like experience for your child.

  • Identify and support the optimal physical, social, and emotional development of each child.

  • Focus our intentions and resources on cultivating a child’s readiness for elementary school success.

  • Develop problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, language, and literacy skills.

  • Provide a wide range of developmentally appropriate experiences.

  • Offer daily opportunities for the development of good physical health, well-being, and movement skills.

  • Guide children in understanding how to cope with their emotions while considering the impact of those emotions on their community members.

  • Cultivate every child’s self-worth and self-love.

  • Promote and encourage a child’s natural ability towards creativity.

  • Integrate multicultural education, awareness, and respect within all aspects of our curriculum.

COMMITMENTS TO YOUR FAMILY

Our Promise

WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER

Parents As Partners

We partner with parents.

Our staff community understands and respects that parents are their children’s first teachers. Their involvement in the school gives their children a sense of security and is deeply appreciated. We recognize that stable, quality relationships during the early years are fundamental for later developmental outcomes.

Collaboration between our staff community, parents, and the children is an integral part of the educational experience at SoulShine Schools. Our goal is not simply to build a strong, warm, and nurturing connection with each child but to extend that connection to our community of parents.

YOUR WINDOW INTO SOULSHINE

Staying Connected

SoulShine uses Brightwheel to keep parents up-to-date on daily  activities and school happenings.  Parents use this app to check their children in and out of SoulShine. For younger kids, Brightwheel is also how teachers share updates on bottles, diaper changes, and more. Details on app use and access are covered during your orientation.

SECURE BY DESIGN

Safety & Security

  • We work diligently to maintain the cleanliness of our facility, ensuring the safety of our furnishings, toys, and the overall health of our children and their environment is paramount.

  • Our buildings are secured for entry and exit at all points. SoulShine families drop off and pick up children using secure keypads, with codes changed periodically throughout the year.

  • The buildings are equipped with closed-circuit cameras in classrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces. Video monitoring is both recorded and viewable from the management office at all times.

  • All staff members are qualified to respond to life-threatening emergencies and are trained on safety rules, special hazards, and commonly occurring accidents.

  • Staff receive detailed instructions and practice evacuation procedures for fire and storms, the use of fire extinguishers, and reporting accidents. Written procedures for fire and storm evacuation are posted in each classroom and are practiced monthly with the children.

  • The children are under adult supervision at all times.

  • In addition to our regularly instituted health and safety plan, emergency care procedures are also in place for all minor and major incidents.
